How To Plan an Adventure Couples Session: Washington Ferry Photoshoot
No matter what season it is, here in the Pacific Northwest, the ferries are always running! There are several ports in which you can take the ferry, each as unique and cozy as the next. Planning an adventure session doesn’t have to include a crazy hike or a road trip to one of Washingtons top destinations. Consider a quick trip to a new city, or small town, or just a round trip to explore the San Juans.
Sydney and Lucas are Washington Natives who have had many adventures aboard the Washington State Ferries. It only made sense to board the boat with them and follow along as they danced around the deck like kids on the playground.
During our session, we started in the main cabin where Syd sat and sipped on some warm coffee while they chatted about what they loved about each other. After having a moment to warm up, I walked up to the observation deck while Syd and Lucas walked out to the main deck to look at the port as we left. After capturing a few shots of them keeping each other warm, they joined me up top where we popped on some music and went to explore together.
I let these two lead their own adventure and I sat back and captured how they loved on each other. They were super playful and I kept encouraging them to move around because it was only 34 degrees outside! Towards the end of our outside adventure, we found some birds that were soaring around the front of the boat. Once our hands were thoroughly numb, we went back inside to cozy up for the last leg our our adventure.
I brought a deck of cards with me and to end the afternoon I had these two reminisce on their childhood while playing card games together. It was such a fun way to capture their fun-loving energy and cap off a perfect afternoon on the water with Washington State Ferries.
If you are interested in doing something fun, lets grab a ferry and go explore the sound together!
