Senior photo season is right around the corner, and you might be starting to think about booking your photographer (which is exciting… and maybe a little overwhelming). One of the biggest decisions in planning your session is where your photos will take place.
Your location helps tell your story just as much as your outfit or posing. Do you picture yourself surrounded by water? Forest light filtering through the trees? Open fields, coastal textures, or something a little more modern? The best senior sessions happen in places that feel like you — your personality, your style, and the things you love about living in the Pacific Northwest.
Below are five of my favorite outdoor senior photo locations in Snohomish County and the surrounding areas. Each offers a different look and feel, with plenty of variety to make your session unique.
Camano Island
There’s a beautiful nature preserve on Camano Island that gives you the best of both worlds. In the summer, the large open field can fill with delicate white flowers, creating a soft, dreamy backdrop. Just a short walk away, the landscape shifts to a rugged beach scattered with driftwood and coastal greenery. This is the perfect location if you want a mix of lush Pacific Northwest scenery and waterfront textures without needing to travel far between looks.

Deception Pass
A true PNW staple. Deception Pass is filled with sweeping views of the Puget Sound, towering evergreens, and endless places to explore. No matter where you stop in the park, you’re almost guaranteed to find incredible light and scenery.
If you want your senior photos to feel adventurous, iconic, and unmistakably PNW coded, this is a location that never disappoints.

Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve
Ebey’s Landing feels like something out of a postcard. A dramatic bluff trail runs above rolling fields (often lined with purple wildflowers in season) before dropping down to a long stretch of shoreline. You’ll find beach grass, weathered driftwood, and views that seem to go on forever. This spot is perfect if you want something that feels timeless, open, and a little bit cinematic.

Kayak Point Park
Kayak Point Park recently reopened and has quickly become a favorite because of how much variety it offers in one place.
The upper portion is filled with dense forest, where soft light filters through the leaves for that classic PNW look. Down below, you’ll find docks, a boat launch, and a long pier stretching out over the water. It’s an ideal location if you want multiple looks without multiple stops, and it photographs beautifully year-round.

Everett Waterfront
Just outside downtown Everett, the waterfront offers a more modern, coastal aesthetic. The marina is filled with sailboats, cool blue tones, and clean architectural lines.
If you’re drawn to something nautical and polished — less forest, more coastal lifestyle — this is a great fit.

Bonus: Downtown Everett
Not far from the waterfront is a downtown area full of texture, color, and interesting light. Historic buildings, brickwork, and small pockets of character make this a great option for seniors who want a subtle city vibe without heading into Seattle.
It’s urban — but still relaxed, approachable, and uniquely local.

Choosing the Right Location for You
The best senior session isn’t about picking the “prettiest” place — it’s about choosing somewhere that feels natural to you. Whether that means barefoot on a beach, walking a forest trail, or leaning into a more modern setting, your location helps tell the story of this season of life.
If you’re not sure which spot fits your vision, that’s completely okay. Helping you decide is part of the process, and we can always design a session that blends locations or focuses on the environment that feels most like you.
